A Vergil
About this curriculum
Sample A Vergil Workbook has been designed and written to guide students through the complexities of understanding Latin poetry: not only Vergil’s Aeneid, but also works by authors ranging from Catullus to Sulpicia to Petrarch. This workbook contains all the Latin selections from Vergil’s Aeneid required for the AP® Latin Exam along with a variety of exercises that give students practice with all aspects of the AP® syllabus: content, translation, sight reading, meter, grammar, syntax, vocabulary, figures of speech, and literary analysis. The format of the exercises helps students sharpen their skills while familiarizing them with the types of questions frequently found on the AP® Latin Examination. Similar exercises follow each complementary companion text: selections from Catullus, Carmina; Horace, Odes; Ovid, Tristia; Petrarch, Africa; and Sulpicia, Poems. A Vergil Workbook also provides two special sections that assist students in building their confidence when confronted with a sight passage.
