Discovering Design with Earth Science
About this curriculum
Grades 8-9 Sample Discovering Design with Earth Science is a laboratory-based science course for eighth or ninth graders that introduces students to the structure and processes of the geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere. They’ll explore Earth’s layers, rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes. Students learn how fossils are formed and interpreted, comparing views like uniformitarianism and catastrophism. In the hydrosphere, they study water’s properties, the water cycle, oceans, ice, and freshwater sources. The atmosphere section covers air composition, weather patterns, and pollution. The course concludes with an introduction to the solar system and the universe. The Discovering Design with Earth Science Set includes the Textbook and Answer Key & Tests.
