Step into the world of early settlers with In Pioneer Days , a classroom‑ready resource for Grades 2–4. Through short informational texts, stories, and engaging activities, students explore daily life in pioneer communities—homes, schools, chores, work, transportation, and more—while practicing key literacy skills like reading for detail, sequencing events, and comparing past and present. This resource aligns with Canadian social studies expectations on communities past and present and supports Common Core ELA standards for Grades 2–3.
