About this curriculum

These 12 professional learning videos cover all the instruction required to implement the JUMP Math Prima math supplement for early learners, offering short, practical PD aligned with each topic covered in the printed Educator Resource, with reflection prompts and classroom integration tips throughout. The material is broken into two parts; Part I: Number Sense includes six modules on subitizing, early counting, and number symbols. Part II: Taking Number Sense Further includes six modules on patterns, spatial reasoning, measurement, and data. These videos are meant to be viewed in order prior to implementation in the classroom using the Educator Resource and Activity Pack. They provide important background information required for successfully understanding and implementing the activities in the resource. The order of the modules has been carefully chosen to follow the order in which children typically develop mathematical concepts and are designed to progress in two dimensions; to increase in difficulty as children become able to master more challenging material and in breadth of application, to offer practice working with new ideas in a variety of contexts.
