About this curriculum

This resource meets the New 2022 Grade 4 Ontario Science Curriculum. The experiments in this book fall under eleven topics that relate to aspects of light and sound, but also to teach general science and technology curriculum objectives thorough the theme of light and sound. In each topic you will find teacher notes designed to provide guidance with the learning intention, the success criteria, materials needed. a lesson outline, as well as provide some insight on what results to expect when the experiments are conducted. Suggestions for differentiation are also included so that all students can be successful in the learning environment. Eleven Topics Include: What is a Sound? Pitch and  Intensity How does Sound Travel? The Speed of Sound and Sound in  Nature Human Beings, Sounds in the Environment , and Sound Machines Sound, Language, Culture, and the Impacts of Technology What is Light? Light Travels The Colours of Light Casting Shadows Human Beings, Lights in the Environment, and Light Machines
