About this curriculum
Course Description In this prealgebra course, students will develop the skills and understanding to prepare them for Algebra 1. They will practice skills using self-corrected exercise sets in preparation for chapter tests that gauge their grasp of the material. Activities provide varied opportunities to explore applications of the lesson concepts. You can find a curriculum sample here Topics include the following: Rounding and estimating Exponents and order of operations Simplifying algebraic expressions Factoring Least common denominator and equivalent fractions Ratios and proportions Congruent and similar triangles Percents, decimals, and fractions Pictographs, bar graphs, histograms, line graphs, and circle graphs Coordinate systems and paired data Graphing linear equations in two variables Probability Lines, angles, perimeter, area, volume, weight, and mass Conversions between the U.S. and metric systems Polynomials This course is organized into 36 lessons that correspond with the 10 chapters in the textbook.
