About this curriculum

Children adore rhyming words. By utilizing their interest this book will help you guide children to master and enjoy rhyming and repetition. This activities are designed to encourage students to play with words and to build a bank of rhyming words. It can also be used as an introduction to poetry. Rhyme and Repetition has been organized into five sections. Pick and choose which sections to do, and within each section again you will have the opportunity to decide how many pages the students will complete. My Rhyming Dictionary: 14 pages where students can build their bank of rhyming words. Students can write words that sound the same – with or without the similar spelling endings. This section can be tailored to the teacher’s needs as to how many sheets the students will complete. Specific questions are written on the bottom of each page to help children identify certain aspects of the written English language. There are blank sheets where the students will add the endings should the class be working on a specific picture book, poem, or theme. It is recommended that the pages of the Rhyming Dictionary be photocopied, placed in a duo-tang, and kept with each child…
