Step Outside
About this curriculum
Step Outside (Studies in Creation for Young Children) – Grades 4-6 by Olivia Howell, Amelia Waller & Mike Flewelling Step Outside Grades 4-6 is designed for homeschooling parents (or others) who desire to do nature study with upper elementary aged children but feel they need some help getting started. The teacher’s manual contains suggested plans for working through the material in a typical school year. The heart of the program is the wide array of nature walk and project activities supported by nature themed readings, oral narration, instruction in drawing, nature journal pages, field reference guides, and some excellent supplementary reading suggestions to support your nature study. This program will take the mystery out of taking your schooling outdoors. If you have not done earlier levels of Step Outside, everything you need has been included in this level so you can jump right in. If you want to incorporate some younger children, we have also provided a bonus section of activities and projects so they can join their older siblings in their studies. THIS PROGRAM WOULD MAKE A GREAT NATURE SCIENCE ADD ON TO OUR SMALL STEPS TO BIG IDEAS PROGRAM!…
