About this curriculum

Your students will be thrilled with this hands-on, experimental approach to learning about the Canadian government and how elections are held. Everything you need to run a complete election is included to ensure your students experience the excitement and hard work of an election firsthand. All students, no matter what their skill set, will have an active role in creating parties, choosing leaders, and other important personnel including campaign managers, creative directors, accountants, etc. Then the fun begins as the classroom is turned into an election campaign with posters, commercials, and debates. Students will gain a personal understanding of the meaning of citizenship, and will even have the opportunity to apply democracy to decisions in their own school. This resource teaches elections and citizenship through experiential learning.
